2012/365 - Day 70

a few photos from Where the Wild Things Art

Here are a few photos of how my two pieces are displayed in the show Where the Wild Things Art at the Grosse Pointe Art Center. There is a link to more photos of the show towards the bottom of this post.

And now for the art I purchased at the show:

I was able to bring this giraffe home because he was on display in the gift shop area. There is another giraffe in the show...this was my favorite.

There is a kids' art show with the same theme that is also a part of this show. All of the kids' art is for sale by donation, with a suggested starting price of $5 each. The proceeds from the sales of the kids' art is divided between three Grosse Pointe non-profits: the art center, the library and an animal rescue. These are the pieces I bought.

This guy is made of felt. His whereabouts (and also one other of the dyed pieces) are currently unknown. I think I may have dropped them in Ruth's car.

The tiger guy is on a canvas and the other guy is on a canvas board.

I LOVE these pieces!!!

You can see all of the photos I took here.

And in other news...
I still don't know if my submissions to the upcoming Detroit Artists Market show were accepted. I got an email today saying:

"Greetings Artists -- Wanted to let you know the juror has selected the work for the Biannual All Media Exhibition 2012 and the results were mailed today, Saturday. So you should be getting word by mid-week in the mail. Please do not call the gallery for results. Thanks again for your entry and good luck."

Oh well...I guess I will still have to keep my fingers crossed for a bit longer.
