Week One - IN the machine at Woods Gallery

UPDATE:
Monday, November 29, 10:15 a.m.

I will be changing the art this morning. New art will be in place by noon...remaining art will go back into rotation and may be available again later in the show.

The Art-o-mat machine that is normally located at Detroit Comics in Ferndale is graciously on loan to the Woods Gallery for the run of the "A Group of Girls" show (November 19 - December 30).

To keep in the theme of "A Group of Girls" I have chosen all wom
en arto-artists with a wide selection of styles and media.

I will change the art in the machine eac
h week. There is an arto-binder near the machine to show you examples of all of the art that will be available at some point during the show. PLEASE follow the instructions on the machine..."shop" the binder BEFORE making your selection...thanks.

In addition, starting with the second week, I will add a "Take a Chance" column of mixed artists...a truly random pull of the knob. This column will feature artpacks from artists that I have in limited quantities.

Click on a picture in these posts to go to the artist's website or Etsy store.

Art-o-mat artpacks make SUPER gifts, you know! What a unique twist for all of your $5 gift exchange needs...handmade, original art!

I am SO thrilled to be able to announce that Greeny (my first Art-o-mat® machine) is now located at the most wonderful coffeehouse in Northville, MI -- SOLID GROUNDS.

I have dreamed of moving Greeny in to Solid Grounds...it is one of my fondest wishes come true! Solid Grounds is such a warm and friendly place...there is always something going on. Plus, BIG and exciting changes are taking place and I feel so privileged to be a part of it. Thank You so much, Teresa and Mike! (more pics tomorrow)

And, of course, Buckety is still thriving at Detroit Comics in Ferndale, MI. Buckety fits in so well with the wacky, quirky, FUN atmosphere. Thank You, Brian and Lori!

Day One Hundred Fifty-Six

Oh man...there is just too must to do still. This is kinda sorta cheaty, but it is for Art-o-mat® in a round about way, so I am counting it as my post for the day.

Tomorrow is the 2nd Anniversary of Detroit Comics, where one of my
Art-o-mat® machines is. (You may recall I host the two Michigan machines.) And you may also recall that Kettle and I have done a collaboration series for Art-o-mat® called "KT Goodlove".

Well, Detroit Comics is throwing a 2nd Anniversary Party tomorrow and I will have an
Art-o-mat® table there. As a way to celebrate the anniversary of Detroit Comics -- and -- to celebrate the launch of "KT Goodlove", Kettle and I have collaborated on 2 larger pieces to be given away as prizes. Kettle also graciously gave me some more artwork to be given away at the party. Really cool stuff.

Here are pictures of the two collaborations Kettle and I did. The longer one is on a plank of pine that I sanded smooth and put my collage pieces on...Kettle painted his parts and sent it back to me. The size of this piece is approximately 5 1/2" x 16"... much larger than I am used to working.

The round one is a 45 rpm record that Kettle painted on the bottom half. I added the red paper on the top and the collage elements. The girl is saying "smooth".

KT Goodlove for April 17

Wow -- Here is block #50 (out of 50) in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.

I shipped the completed "KT Goodlove" set to Artists in Cellophane last week and Carol is beginning to send them out to
Art-o-mat® machines across the country! I ordered 10 for the Michigan machines, but I think I am going to hold onto them (once they arrive) for the Detroit Comics machine...you know... Buckety.

(Scroll down and you can see Buckety over on the right column of the front page of this blog...the teal colored machine.)

Detroit Comics is having their 2nd Anniversary Party on June 6. Kettle and I will make a couple of larger collaboration pieces to kickoff the series at the party. They will be available as prizes. Details later.
