365/2013 - Day 135

hmmm...

The collage that I started last night is SO different today in its dry state.  Last night while it was still very wet I thought I was seeing a few creatures emerging.  Today they are gone.  Just gone.  I tried turning the canvas over and over to see new views but most of the images were fairly disturbing nightmarish figures to me.  I finally went back to the original orientation and a guy starting to surface.

today's dry version of the very wet collage from last night
turned upside down I started seeing scary creatures -- kinda nightmarish
turned in this direction more of the creepy guys came up -- and the other direction was the very worst for disturbing imagery -- I couldn't even photograph it
going back to the original orientation this guy started coming through...one green eye, one yellow eye and a long nose
he seems (right now) to be some sort of antelope/goat guy in a ceremonial-type kimono or something -- with a cloudy outdoorsy sky behind him...we'll see if he stays

2012/365 - Day 39 part 4

he's turning antelope (I really think so...)

Well...I dunno. Here is is just before I started working on him again.

I thickened his neck, lessened the gap between his neck and his hump, shaped his head and nose.

I think he is turning antelope-ish. I don't really want him to stay antelope-ish.

I tried to make the horn on my left (facing him) look twisty.
This is the front view.

It sort of worked...back view.

Yeah, it sort of worked. My back is kind of killing right now so I am done for the night. If I really hate the horn tomorrow I can always just put another layer on and make them both very thick.

I like the shape and tilt of his head, though (from the back).

(part of me thinks it looks like a slipping down hornwarmer)

22 (18-22)

"my shaman senses are tingling"

Well, I guess they
must be -- how else could blueberries be dripping from an orange?

Day Two Hundred Fourteen

Are you trying to get me fired?

This is another collage for my Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".

Day Thirty

I like making these plain, straight forward collages of Animal People making statements. It is quite a challenge sometimes to find the words I am looking for in magazines. Sometimes I have to cut words apart and put THEM together to create the word I need...a collage of words. Fun. But man oh man are those little bits of paper little! My eyes and head feel all wonky now...too much close work in too short a period of time.

Waah, waaah, waah...and I have been typing and/or reading the computer screen for most of the day -- getting ready for a Detroit Derby Girls bout tomorrow. (YAY!)

Back to the collage while I have a few minutes before midnight.

I have made a handful of wordy collages like this, but they are those totally flat magnet strips you can get at Michael's and then I laminate them...they look pretty cool on the 'fridge and they hold pretty darn well. I'd like to do that for Art-o-mat
®, but magnets are one of the no-no's...metal machines, and all.
