Day One Hundred Forty-Two
I had a really wonderful time today with Sue and Juana...Sue rarely gets to join us, so this was especially special!
We went to The Scarab Club to see the exhibit Blooms, Bugs, Beasts. And, on top of the already swell time and incredible show, I got to meet Treena Flannery Ericson - Treena is the Gallery Director at the Scarab Club. We've had a few emails and Facebook encounters, but have never met in person before today. She is a very lovely and warm person and she walked around the show with us, talking about the artwork and the building and garden. What a great experience at the Scarab Club!
Here are a just a few photos of some of my favorite pieces:
Next Sue and Juana and I went to Cass Cafe and had a delicious lunch with lots of great conversation. The ride home was also fun. What a great day!
Blooms, Bugs, Beasts runs through June 28

Day 116 - 365/2014
Day One Hundred Sixteen
Today Juana went with me to drop off my entry for Blooms, Bugs, Beasts at The Scarab Club in Detroit.
I seriously doubt that either of my pieces will be juried in (I've submitted work two or three times before without success). I don't really hold out much hope -- the Scarab Club is a pretty huge deal and I am fairly sure that I'm not in that league...but what the heck...stranger things have happened...and there is no harm in at least trying.
Tomorrow is the deadline for entries and the results will be posted on Wednesday, so there won't be a very long wait in finding out...in the meantime I am going to try not to think about it.
