KT Goodlove 159

You're improving -- let's put it like that.

That line comes from "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". At least that's where I got it.

Oh, and neither the scanner nor my point-&-shoot Canon camera will pick up the delicious beyond Barbie pinkness of the background of this collage. I might try and capture it sometime when it is daylight outside. I mean it is like poke your eyes out dayglo pink...very wonderful and intense color. Have you ever seen my Isaac Mizrahi purse set? It is kinda sorta like that. Kind of.

KT Goodlove is the collaborative collage series that Kettle and I make for Art-o-mat. This is number 159 in the series.

KT Goodlove # 147

"the vibe is big - the room is small"

I can't tell who is saying that...and I like it.

This is block #147 in the Kettle and Took collaboration series KTGoodlove for Art-o-mat®.

KT Goodlove # 140

I didn't want to put any words on this block so that the viewer could imagine what song the dog guy is playing.

KT Goodlove #95

"he was talkin' his foreign talk"

This is block #95 in the Kettle and Took collaboration series KTGoodlove for Art-o-mat®.

Yep...one more of the color-problematic ones. Girl is Pepto Bismol pink and background is chartreusey green in real life. I was totally unaware of this when I was making the collage, but the design on the dog man's shirt is the same color as the background...cool.

well, well, well...KT Goodlove #74

"I'm fond of him"

I have finally gotten myself back into making Arto-stuff. Although I have sadly fallen way off of the arto-piece-a-day theme,
here are some new KT Goodlove blocks, picking up where I left off.

You may remember that KT Goodlove is the collaboration series I am doing with Kettle for Art-o-mat®. He paints something wonderful on a block and then I add a collage bit or two to it.

Day Two Hundred Nineteen (KTG #52)

Yep...those guitar players get all the girls!

I like that I was able to find a head with some light on it to go with the light on the guitarist's shirt. I also like the way the pinks and grays and whites play off each other. (Sorry it doesn't show up too well in the pics.)

This is block #52
in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.

Note Dept: The first scan in today's post shows the images clearly but color/shade of pink is waaaay off. I tried to capture it in this tweaked color chip photo...it's closer but not exact.

Rant Dept: There is something about a couple of colors (some pinks, some yellows) that really confuses my scanner and my camera. No amount of my feeble adjustments to settings or even taking the block out into daylight will correct it. Admittedly, I am absolutely not techno-savvy and not at all motivated and/or capable of getting involved in classes or instruction manuals to actually learn how to understand any of this stuff. You know how some people are just "born to do something" and others have other strengths? Well, I have other strengths.

(for) Day Two Hundred Four

I'm the sideman. That's my gig. The sideman has to make it all happen and make everyone else look good.

What else is there to say?

Day One Hundred Sixty-Four

Opening Next Month

I like the crisp imagery in this collage. I also like the position of the dog man's head. I think it works.

Day One Hundred Forty-Two

Young Pup Blues or Pup Rocker...what's on his mind?

Cookies and a "big boy" guitar. 'Nuff said.

Day Ninety-Three

"If I'm one-third Australian, and maybe I'm not, I can dream up this elegant song"

I'm not sure what that means, but it sounded good at the time when I made it today.
