365 Day 187

I finally listed a Tooky in my Etsy shop!

Well, I finally did it -- I listed one of my "Tooky" finger puppets in my Etsy shop. I don't know why it has taken me so long to just sit down and DO it. Here is a link for the listing.

I took all of the photographs a couple of days ago, but I have been dragging my feet about the actual listing. I think it is that I don't like to write the copy for the listing. Although, Etsy has made it easier since the last time I listed something.

I make these finger puppets as a series for Art-o-mat and I had some extras and wanted to try them at Etsy.

If you know me, you know I am pretty sewing-challenged. These
Tookies (and other earlier variations) work for me because they are made from two fingers of those "magic" stretch gloves and then I embellish them. They take a while, but I am driven to make them several times a year. I have ranted about the process in previous posts in this blog...but that is usually when I am making 50+ of them at a time. If these guys sell on Etsy, maybe I will make more of them in smaller editions. Perhaps I can try to do more with them, too...embellish them more.

One listing down...fifteen to go!

365 Day 103 (catch up post #2)

Tookies update

Remember the 29 Tookies finger puppets I made for our table at the 1st Ever Tiny Market in Kalamazoo? Well, these are the ones that I did not sell.

I need to photograph them and post them to my Etsy store and my new ArtFire shop.

I will probably do the photography tonight while the paper is drying on 'Nipped.

365 Day 71

and so it begins...again

I know it probably doesn't sound like much to do, but this is a very time consuming part of making the Tookies finger puppets...selecting the fingers and pre-matching them up with the buttons that will be their eyes. As I have said on many occasions, I have trouble choosing colors (mostly because I like too many combinations) and it just takes me a long time.

I pulled out 50 combos of glove fingers and button eyes. 30 will be for taking to Tiny Studio in Kalamazoo for Bonnie Pfingst's first ever Tiny Market during the city's April Art Hop. 4 are for another very special reason and the rest are for my Etsy store.

I will begin cutting off the finger parts and sewing on the eyes and mouths tonight. I may only get the first 4 done, but it will be a start. Because of the way I was working today, my right upper arm hurts like I got a tetanus shot
(poor Took).

I think this one is my favorite right now.

Etsy Shop finally open!

Woah -- it took me long enough, but I finally opened my Etsy Shop.

Over the next day or so I will be slowly adding pieces to the shop. I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

The first items in the shop are collaborative mixed media collage plaques by Kettle and me.

Opening an Etsy Store

I am finally going to do it -- I'm going to open an Etsy store.

The first items will be a few collaborative collage/paintings by Kettle (John Soukup) and me.

It will take a few weeks for me to figure it out and get it going, but here are a few of the items that will be available.
