Day 365 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Sixty-Five

I didn't want to close out the blog year this way, but I am feeling a bit under the weather.  I am taking the night off.  See you next year!

Day 364 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Sixty-Four

Tonight I have been poking holes into the head sections of the newest hand sewn guy and pushing spikes through and then tacking them into place.  I plan to add a lot of embellishments to this guy's hair/mane but for now I just want to anchor the spikes.

Day Three Hundred Sixty-Three (late)

Man.  I just now realized I didn't do a blog post yesterday.  Oh well.

Day 362 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Sixty-Two

Not much going on today...I have been working on-and-off on more spikes for the newest hand sewn guy.  The pickings are getting kind of slim (as far as colors go) so I will just stick with the basic palette I started with.  I originally thought I still had scads of fingers in all of the colors...but, nope.

Day 361 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Sixty-One

Today I was at The Woods Gallery with Lisa and Terri, helping with intake for A Group of Girls 2 and then Terri and I stayed and assisted while Lisa hung the show. Here are a few of the photos I took.

I was the first to arrive so I set up a table and chairs for intake.
Preliminary paperwork begins.
Nancy Kozlowski arrives.
Terri adding the inventory numbers to Nancy's artwork.

Taking a breather...Lisa, Juana, and Terri at the intake table.
Starting to accumulate some artwork!
Kate Paul and Christina Czaja arrive.

The two Lisas -- Lisa Goedert and Lisa Grix.
Okay...time to get started.  Terri helps Lisa with the first piece to go on the wall.
"How about this, Took?"
Lisa gets in a zone and things come together.
The first piece for this wall.
Hmmm...
Working on the first wall again.
Lisa hangs one of Terri's fabulous collages.
Back to the zone.

Working on the other side of the anchor piece on the first wall.
Starting to take shape!
The far wall.
The last wall section.
The last wall...with the artwork that will be for auction on the right side.
Lisa did it again!
The opening reception for A Group of Girls 2 is on January 23rd at The Woods Gallery.  You can keep up with details as the date approaches by checking out the event page on Facebook.

Day 360 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Sixty

Taking two stabs at painting/applying paint today...both are still very early attempts.

Another attempt at dry brushing...I just can't quite get the hang of it...but these horns will get more color eventually anyway.

And I still don't know where I'm going with Biteyou...but I wanted to try to get the orb to "glow".  I am happy with the results so far.

Although you wouldn't know it from this photo...the "glow" is fairly subtle and changes as you walk by.

Day 359 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Nine

I am learning that I need one more day of adjusting to the new meds...so today will be a day of moving things around and assessing projects.  Later on I hope to work on more spikes for the newest hand sewn guy.

The newest hand sewn guy...needs lots more spikes, for sure.
What to tackle first?
This guy is the most do-able right now...but he needs to tell me his story.
I can at least clean up his eyes...and begin to listen.
There!
Tell me your story...your colors...give me a clue.
Gathering the creatures that need work.
I am hoping in that re-working the cat girl I will get more insight on how to build up the croc's body.
The new view from my work chair in Studio B.
And I still don't know what these guys are about...maybe in 2015 I will find out.
I want so badly to work on this guy but I have no direction yet.
I am taking on the housework that will no longer be ignored -- a little at a time -- and feeling like I am at least accomplishing something.  Making spikes while watching tv will also help in that department because they are so time consuming...and I need so many of them.
