365 Day 308

It's the First Friday in November -- time to come to Northville, MI!

There are all sorts of great things to do tonight, but this is by far my favorite -- the
7th Annual Holiday Art Market at the Northville Art House. This is a part of the First Friday Experience which takes place throughout the downtown area of Northville.

Hand-crafted work in painting, printmaking, glass, mosaic, fiber, photography, jewelry and mixed media will be for sale by well-known local artists, including Kim Bearden, George Bochnig, Barb Buchanan, Alan Casadei, Nancy Cassel, Janice Degen, Barbara De
mgen, Kathy Eaton, Took Gallagher, Mary Kernahan, Peggy Kerwan, Mary Keys, Deb Kolar, Galina Koriduzki, Andrea Lang, Lisa Mancos, Liz Messer, Carla Morabito, Judith Waterman, Donna Weber, Jessica Woodard, Julie Woodard, Myriam Zamor, Shadia Zayed, and Marga Zieger.

These artists have been asked to supply unique items specially priced for holiday gift giving!

gorgeous wreaths and fabulous themed gift baskets

The gift baskets are raffle items with contents donated by local artists and merchants. Tickets are $1 each or 11 for $10. Tickets are available beginning tonight and right up until the night of the drawings -- which will take place on December 2nd during the December First Friday festivities.

You can find just about anything at this Holiday Art Market.

AND -- don't forget to stop into the Art House Store to grab up some creative stocking stuffers from the Art-o-mat machine!
All original artwork for a mere $5 bill.

Currently featuring: origami, colored pencil drawings, wooden cows, miniature bronzes, tiny capacitor 'bots, raku tiles, 3-D photos with 3-D glasses included, finger puppets, and amazingly colorful animal paintings.

These unique and very affordable treasures are wonderful for any sort of gift exchange. Also great for teacher gifts, bowling leagues, Secret Santa...you name it!

Check out the helpful "What's in that Machine?" binder to see examples of the artwork and to learn a little something about the artist.

(There is currently work from 3 Michigan artists available in this machine...we are always looking for more Michigan artists to get involved in the Art-o-mat project.
)

You can also see some examples of Art-o-mat artpacks in the display case next to the machine.

ALSO Happening at the Northville Art House:

The Northville District Library is holding a used book sale in the lower level of the Art House. Most books are between 50 cents and $3. Some larger coffee table books are slightly higher.

Proceeds from the book sale benefit the library and the Art House.
