Day 346 (Part Two) - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Forty-Six (Part Two)

A visit to the Detroit Artists Market to see Art for the Holidays.

Some of my favorite items...way too many to show EVERYthing.

Day Three Hundred Forty-Six, Part One

I have to post about today in three sections because there were just too many photos to be contained in one post.

Peggy, Juana, Terri and I all got together for an arty afternoon and lunch today -- it was a total blast!  We went to the Scarab Club, Detroit Artists Market, Garden Bowl, lunch at Sala Thai, and then we parted ways for the drive back...Terri went home and Peggy, Juana and I stopped off in Ferndale to see Sanda Cook's show at Affirmations.  Then we dropped off Juana and Peggy brought me back to my house.  What a fabulous day...great company, great art, great (and goofy) conversation...just wonderful.  I am basically just going to let the photos speak for themselves.

Yes, the most-featured piece is my blue bear guy "Out of the Blue" -- it's my blog...ha ha ha.  Plus I am still trying to get over how cool/odd/unreal it feels for him to be included in this really incredible show...I am so honored and pleased.

Day 345 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Forty-Five

I really want to move on with the big blue Bite You collage/painting.  I haven't been happy with anything I've tried so far and as a result it has been sitting in my studio mocking me for quite a long time.  Today I decided to grab up the big piece of chalk and try to put some sort of a moon or something behind Bite You.  I'm not exactly sure about it yet, but at least it is a start...I can always wipe it off and do something else.

"before"
"after" -- for now
I started out with a smaller banana moon/crescent moon and it kept needing to be expanded (little by little) until it grew into this.  I doubt it will stay white if I decide to keep it.  I think I am beginning to lose a bit of the apprehension of working on it, anyway.  I can always re-do it until I like the end results.

Day 344 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Forty-Four

Wednesday Morning for coffee at Tuscan Cafe with Joan and Leann...Jan wasn't available today.  Lately I have just been showing up and socializing because I am not ready to work on something that early in the day...plus, my stuff is usually not very portable.  Today I wanted to do something so I brought my floss box and started sorting it out.  Towards the end of our time together Leann packed up her project and joined me in the mindless untangling and rolling up.  Very pleasant morning.

I had my physical late this afternoon and tonight I am back to sorting.

Not terribly exciting, but it feels good to do this.

Day 343 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Forty-Three

I had errands to do today.  Long term every day pain wears you out really quickly...not an excuse, just an explanation.  I did manage to finally ship out the Animal People collages to Art-o-mat...yay.  Other than that, all I have to show for today is a pair of stitched pieces of fabric which will most likely be legs (or arms).

Day 342 - 365/2014

Day Three Hundred Forty-Two

I think the new little sewn guy is done for the most part.  I have a total of fourteen hours work in him.  Ah, well.  I gave him fingers, more spikey things and yarn "hair".

Now the new little spikey sewn guy can sit with the other smallish spikey sewn guy on the green branchy-horned beast.
