Day Thirty-Eight

Tonight was the opening reception for the 8th Annual Members Exhibit at the Northville Art House.  I took up my post at the front door as greeter/counter.  We had an absolutely amazing turn out tonight -- especially considering it was below 10 degrees outside.  Lovely art, great people, a really good time!

Here is a small sampling I was able to shoot before many guests started arriving.

No photos today...I am working on paperwork for a couple of upcoming open calls for art...one I am helping with and one I am coordinating.  A little research, a little comparing, a little rewriting, a little calendar work...stuff like that.

I LOVE this sort of stuff!

Day Thirty-Five

Darn allergic reactions!  (And it isn't just me...I know several people experiencing this same sort of thing.)

I had a short burst of creative energy earlier in the afternoon.  I have a total of seven (of one hundred) Animal People collages made now.

I KNOW there is a bottle of milk in here somewhere -- two maybe!

Ha -- there it is!

It is funny to me how much the look of the creature changes as you swap out backgrounds.

And then I ended up not using one of these four.

Yay -- seven of one hundred!  I don't usually do this many Animal Kids...I even have a few more I could make.

Okay -- now I can take a dose of Benadryl and not worry about missing my deadline if I should happen to fall asleep in front of tv.

Today and tonight I've been cutting images, making phrase labels, cutting more images, and finally putting one collage together.

Day Thirty-Three

Tonight I finished front-wrapping the collage blocks for this edition of Animal People for Art-o-mat.  Now all one hundred blocks are ready for me to get to work with the collage part!

Remember these guys?  I also painted more on the white and black creatures.  IF I do these as a series for Art-o-mat (and I am still not sure if I want to paint that much) I will have to submit a prototype first.  I don't think I like the white creatures at all...I would stick with the black ones on light colored backgrounds...maybe do dark blue and dark purple creatures, maybe dark green...but definitely not white ones.  I don't like the black teeth on the white ones.  I like the white teeth on the dark ones and maybe the white teeth would show up on other very dark colors...but yeah...I don't know yet.

Day 32 - 365/2014

Day Thirty-Two  (updated)

A few of us were going to meet up at my house tonight for fun and games and stuff, but the weather got a little iffy so we postponed it.

Along with this weather today I have massive sinus and allergy headaches and symptoms...I am just not feeling very creative and I don't want to force anything creative because I won't be happy with it.

No doubt tomorrow will be better.

update:

 After sitting at my desk for a while I came across the goat guy transfer/collage I made (over a repurposed canvas board thing) a few months ago.  I played around with a few of the colored pencils on my desk and came up with this.  It's a start, I guess.
