not abandoned...just sleep deprived
I am such a slacker. I have allowed myself to become obsessed with something and although I have NOT abandoned this project, I probably won't post again until Monday.
I am 100 % sleep deprived and worth absolutely nothing right now (I am surprised I can type...sheesh.)
I will be back with the appropriate number of make up Arto-pieces...most likely on Monday. Really. You just come back and see.

I hate myself for this!

Day Two Hundred Thirty
Okay...I'm cheezing out tonight because I didn't get anything made today but I DID get another batch o' Kettle-y goodness in the mail yesterday and that is what I am posting tonight.
I will make two things tomorrow.
But in the meantime...ponder the new blocks from Kettle for me to add my collage elements to in order to complete the Kettle + Took collaboration that is aka "KT Goodlove".

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Nine (KTG #61)
it's way too early for your shenanigans
I just love the collages that have words and you can't tell who is saying them...it leaves so much up to the viewer's imagination. This is one of those collages.
And it is cracking me up. The look on the rabbit's face. The dog's seriousness. The bandage on the dog's finger. The way the dog is leaning backwards. I like this one.

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Eight (KTG #60)
This was another tough one because of the background color. I tried to add in some yellow (orange would've been too dark for the rabbit's head -- I probably should have gone with light blue). I know everything is in shades of white, but I think it still works pretty well.
I was going for a feeling of motion and I think it is there. I like the magician's hat.

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Seven (KTG #59)
This was a tough one for me. It was hard to get a body that would show a good deal of "something" w/o being blocked by the girl's head.
This is another one of those difficult to scan and photograph background colors. It is a sort of goldeny orangey yellow. The side shot is fairly accurate for color.

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Six (KTG #58)
Wow -- I really like this one a whole lot. It took a long time to match a head and body that would fit on that lower edge, but it was worth it!
The conversation tidbit comes from Zooey Deschanel on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
This is also another block with the background color that confuses my scanner and camera. The scanner records the images most accurately, and the camera tries to show the correct color in the smaller out-of-focus pic.

40 Roller Derby Teams to Compete for National Title
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) tournament season kicks off September 11, 2009, bringing together the best talent flat-track roller derby has to offer in matchups no derby fan will want to miss! Over a four-week period, 40 teams will compete in four regional tournaments for a shot at claiming the top rank in their corner of the country.
The top three teams from each region – East, North Central, South Central and West – will then advance to the third annual WFTDA National Tournament, Nov. 13-15 in Philadelphia, PA. Day Two Hundred Twenty-Five (KTG #57)
I am happy with the way this set of KT Goodlove collages are turning out so far. But I have to say that I am really pleased with this one.
I have never made such a tiny animal person before. I also like the way the flowers look and how they are similar to the painted flower. I like that the cat girl is looking at the rabbit. I like the rabbit's expression. I like the tilted number. I like the colors.
I just really like this one!
This is block #57 in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.
Have I mentioned lately that these blocks are 2 1/8" x 3 1/4" (or so)? (I thought they were 2.5x3.5)

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Three
Yay -- I finally sent off the "All Ears" finger puppets to Artists in Cellophane today! And yes, it is about time. I am always amazed by how long it takes to package everything, make labels, print out labels, stick them on, yada yada yada.
Anyway...they are gone daddy gone.
I think I am going to let this be my Arto-post of the day. I need a short overnight break. I have been in the car for most of the day and I am fried. I want to see if I can see any of the meteor shower tonight.
There. I blogged it and so that is what I'm going to do.

Day Two Hundred Twenty (KTG #53)
I don't write the rules I just follow them.
The background color of this block is pretty cool. In some light, it is very yellow...in some light it is a bit green/chartreuse. I like it. A lot.
This is another one of those "I don't know who is making the statement" collages. Really, it could be the rabbit or the cat girl. I like that, too. A lot.

Day Two Hundred Nineteen (KTG #52)
Yep...those guitar players get all the girls!
I like that I was able to find a head with some light on it to go with the light on the guitarist's shirt. I also like the way the pinks and grays and whites play off each other. (Sorry it doesn't show up too well in the pics.)
This is block #52 in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.
Note Dept: The first scan in today's post shows the images clearly but color/shade of pink is waaaay off. I tried to capture it in this tweaked color chip photo...it's closer but not exact.
Rant Dept: There is something about a couple of colors (some pinks, some yellows) that really confuses my scanner and my camera. No amount of my feeble adjustments to settings or even taking the block out into daylight will correct it. Admittedly, I am absolutely not techno-savvy and not at all motivated and/or capable of getting involved in classes or instruction manuals to actually learn how to understand any of this stuff. You know how some people are just "born to do something" and others have other strengths? Well, I have other strengths.

Day Two Hundred Eighteen
Today begins the second set of 50 blocks of the collaboration series for Art-o-mat® entitled "KT Goodlove".
In case you've forgotten (or you are new to my blog), Kettle paints on the MDF blocks and then sends them to me for me to fit my collages around his paintings.
I like how the cat girl is just going on with her lipstick demo and is ignoring the ghostly rabbit (even though he clearly has substance because his ear is in front of that large tube.)
