Day One Hundred Fifty-One
This guy looks a little bit squiggly on the sides, and his ears are a little floppy, but he has tons of personality.
I like him a lot. He is a little more monster-y than his buddies.
This is a finger puppet for my Art-o-mat® series "All Ears".

Day One Hundred Fifty
This is really today's piece. The camel man was yesterday's and I missed the deadline.
Okay. I will tell you.
And here is what I will tell you. Two things, actually.
One is that I will most likely keep this collage and not put it into the set of 50 for Art-o-mat®.
Two is that I am very afraid of rabbits in real life. But I walk this thin line of being creeped out/scared and finding some rabbitty images cool.
This rabbit man is walking that thin line for me...that is why I will probably keep it. Another reason is that I really like the simplicity of it...I like how the background paper is a big part of the picture. I like the way the flowery vines make the picture look sort of dimensional. I also like the eyeglasses in the rabbit man's hands. Rabbits should wear spectacles. (Reminds me of the story of "The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles" on my favorite Jethro Tull album, "A Passion Play".)
ANYway...this is another collage for my Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".
150 days down, 215 to go!
Update: Oh my...look -- there is a little claymation film for the aforementioned story!

Day One Hundred Forty-Nine -- late AGAIN!!!
What it Feels Like
What it feels like...I'll tell you what it feels like...it feels exactly like OMG I CANNOT BEE-LEEVE I MISSED ANOTHER DEADLINE -- AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
I totally spaced out and lost track of the time. Cripes.
And now I am kicking myself. That's what it feels like.

Day One Hundred Forty-Seven
Wow...it has been quite a while since I made a finger puppet.
Here is another girly girl.
I will take another shot tomorrow when there is more available light. Her eyelashes are cuter than in this photo.
This is a finger puppet for my Art-o-mat® series "All Ears".
Update: Here is another shot so you can see that her eyes are cuter than in the first photo.
blog promotion site -- lookie!
This cool site stumbled across my blog (somehow) and now I am telling YOU about it.
It's pretty cool...I have gotten several referrals from the site. Check them out!
The site is Condron.us
Here is a little bit about them, from their website:
Welcome to Condron.us
Blog surfing at its best!
Condron.us is a blog surfing website.
(Basically like channel surfing but for blogs).
"It’s an interesting site that flips through recently updated WordPress and Blogger blogs in the same fashion that I flip through 200 cable channels.
It displays a blog for a few seconds - just long enough to let you decide if it might be worth reading and then it flips on to the next blog."

If a blog surfer finds a blog that interests them they can stop and read it or bookmark it for future reading.
How does it work:
Condron.us provides bloggers with free exposure to large groups of potential readers by pulling recently updated blogs at random from wordpress and blogspot. In the words of one user: jehingr.wordpress.com

Day One Hundred Forty-Five
This big shot in my office building wears sunglasses in the elevator. WTF? Does he think he's Bono?
This is another collage for my Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".
Side Note: I tried to make a conscious decision today to deliberately select an animal head and then match a body to it. I have also been deliberately trying to have a pattern in the order of the collages for this set...girl, guy, kid/couple/person with animal/etc., "other" animal, then back again.
I have already been having a bit of a problem with this planning and pattern stuff...and this is only the fifth block in this current set of fifty.
Hey, I'm a triple Capricorn...I usually thrive on rules, patterns, routines...but when it comes to making collages it simply doesn't work for me. That really surprised me today.
I guess it is back to just doing it and listening when The Universe makes suggestions now and then.

Day One Hundred Forty-Four
Dear oh deary me. I truly don't understand why my scanner has trouble "reading" some of the colors on these little colored pencil drawings.
I will photograph this tomorrow and see if that will show that the background of this one is yellow and the glow is pink. The crown is orange and the jewels are magenta, outlined in very dark purple. It is also a little hard to see the tabby-ish markings on the cat.
Ah well.
This tiny portrait is for my series "Penciled In" for Art-o-mat®.
Update: See? The background is yellow.

Day One Hundred Forty-Three
Whew...49 out of 50 -- one more to go!
Then all that is left to do is:
1. Make the rest of the twisty wire hangers for the backs
2. Print out and affix the labels to the boxes
3. Drop the drawings and inserts into the boxes
4. Wrap the boxes in cellophane
5. Pack 'em up
6. Ship 'em out to Artists in Cellophane

Day One Hundred Forty-One
I am not kidding...I cannot even tell anymore at this point. There are probably 8 different shades of green on this dog. I will get a second and third opinion tomorrow, but I think this one probably will not go into a machine...I am not happy with it but I put too much time into it to scrap it as today's post.
It's like my eyes are totally fried tonight...like they soaked up waaaaaay too much bright sunshine and colors today. Over stimulation or something...maybe the lighting in the studio is just too harsh tonight. I don't know.
I went to the Farmer's Market in Northville this morning to buy flowers for the yard. At 8 am it was already so bright I almost couldn't see. Then all those colors of flowers and people and cars...it was a madhouse. Later I was joined by my friend Andi (who will be doing the planting tomorrow) and we went to two garden centers and a gardeny store (gazing balls, wind chimes, statuary...that kind of gardeny store). When I got home I still hadn't had enough and I spent several hours in the late afternoon and early evening looking at flower catalogs...all those super saturated colors...man!
My eyes are just totally fried. Or something.
This tiny portrait is for my series "Penciled In" for Art-o-mat®...or maybe not...probably not. Sheesh.
Update: (next day) Andi suggested brightening up his "aura"...not sure if this helped...I'll ask her (and Annabella) tomorrow...it was almost impossible to get anything to show up on the red/magenta background.
Saturday Update: Andi says it looks fine now with the extra colors in the "aura". I will trust her
opinion.

Day One Hundred Thirty-Eight
This tiny portrait is for my series "Penciled In" for Art-o-mat®.
This character started out as an attempt to draw a hamster or gerbil, but it pretty much ended up looking more like a Wonderland dormouse. He generally comes in a rainbow of colors...this one is a pink-and-greens combo.

Day One Hundred Thirty-Six
Forty-five down, five to go and then I start getting this set of fifty little colored pencil drawings ready to be packed up and shipped out to Artists in Cellophane!
I need to make some more twisty wire hangers for the backs, make the labels for the boxes, put it all together, etc...
This is a blue(s) version of my bumble bear character. He is usually done in pink or purple, but I thought I'd try him in a different color today. He looks like he is eating his cup, too (like his dog buddy a few days ago.)

Mmmm, mmmm....coffee and a cupcake and a cat girl.

Oh geez -- I just barely squeaked in under the wire (my midnight deadline)!
I like this pink version of the coffee dog. I think he is cute and cuddly, but he looks like he is eating the cup instead of drinking from it.
Or perhaps he is licking the flap on a green envelope.

Well, this is something I never expected to see -- a yellow version of my Wolfy character.
I know it doesn't look like it in this scan, but he is quite yellow.
I will take a photo tomorrow. It is too dark outside right now.

Day One Hundred Thirty (actually)
I still can't believe I messed up yesterday and forgot to post. Ah well.

Day One Hundred Twenty-Nine...oh, man...
I can't beeeeeleeeeve I did that again! Yesterday was a bout day and I was doing a lot of last minute stuff and I thought that I posted this -- and obviously I didn't. Cripes.
heavy sigh
I like these shades of green together. It is a little hard to see the differences in the scan. I also tried making the steam from the dog's coffee with the silver colored pencil. I like how that turned out.

Day One Hundred Twenty-Three
You know, I only had three more collages to make to get to the magic number of 50 so that I could send them into Artisits in Cellophane to replenish (finally!) my stock of "Animal People", one of my Art-o-mat® series. So I made them all today so that I could start the finishing process tomorrow and pack 'em up and send 'em out by the end of the week.
Well, it happened again. I have to keep this collage for me...now I have to make one more.
"He's been quite brave chasing bear off our property - although I have no idea how he'll handle the supernatural."
This one is cracking me up (as did Lord Mangrove/Day 97 and Llama Man/Day 107). Lord Mangrove was impossibly handsome and "scary", Llama Man was Aunt Libby-ish and amusing, and now it's the out of context sentence that is making me keep this one. It is one of those "whose voice is it" things that I find so entertaining.
Is the Ram Man braggin' on his trusty protector/companion (presumably a dog, but who knows) or is someone else talking about the Ram Man as being the brave bear chasing guy?
Okay...so now they can hang out together in a little grouping somewhere in my house and remind me of how silly I was.
My yard now that Ram Man (or his companion) has chased the bears away -- note the chasing knocked down all those petals from the messy tree.
